Brother Thomas Oliver Pickett, the Western Australian Senior of the Year for 2025, took out the national title for his incredible contribution to kids across the world.

Brother Thomas Oliver Pickett co-founded Wheelchairs For Kids in 1996 to provide adjustable wheelchairs and occupational therapy expertise for children in developing countries, free of charge.

COTA WA Chief Executive Officer, Mark Kinsela said Brother Thomas Oliver Pickett is a credit to the state, and to older Australians everywhere.

“Seeing Western Australia’s Brother Thomas Oliver Pickett become the Senior Australian of the Year is a proud moment for all of us,” Mr Kinsela said.

“The contribution Brother Pickett has made to kids and their families right across the world is incredible. His selfless dedication to improving the lives of others is something we should all be in awe of.

“He’s proof that there’s no age at which we stop being capable of extraordinary things.”
